For the seventh year running, the 2012 Jägermeister Independent Music Awards bestowed gongs – and drinks – on some of Australia’s finest talent.
Winner Chet Faker stormed the stage with a surprise live performance after picking up two awards – both for Best Single / EP for Breakthrough Artist. Sydney garage punk band Royal Headache won the hotly contested Best Album category and celebrated their success with ice cold Jägermeister shots, as did Best Artist winners Jezabels deep into the night. Although they come around every year, 2012’s Jägermeister Independent Music Awards really were one of a kind: stunning live performances, happy independent artists, and freezers filled with Jägermeister. Sometimes, life is just great!
